Federal Government Solar Hot Water for GSA Government Buildings:

 

·      GSA Savings:


o  Central Steam System cost in Washington, DC – a 60% Solar Fraction will save approximately 60% of the building annual hot water cost.

o  Steam Maintenance savings will save approximately 90% of the energy savings for the building hot water cost.

 

·      Public/Private Partnership (P3) – If the GSA funds the project, they forfeit all of the solar incentives. The P3 solution creates a win/win.


o  The P3 funds the entire cost of the Solar Hot Water System

o  The P3 receives 30% of the project cost as Investment Tax Credit

o  The P3 receives the new tax law 100% Bonus Depreciation

o  The GSA receives the same benefits shown above.
